Southeast Asia is a vibrant region filled with rich history, stunning landscapes, and some of the world’s most iconic destinations. Whether you’re exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok, marvelling at the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, trekking through the lush jungles of Laos, or unwinding on the pristine beaches of Bali, Southeast Asia offers unforgettable adventures. The cultural diversity, combined with the incredible natural beauty of places like Halong Bay in Vietnam and the islands of the Philippines, makes it a dream destination for every traveller. Before you go, make sure to get vaccinated for hepatitis A and hepatitis B, and ensure your routine immunizations, such as MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), are up-to-date.

While travelling in Southeast Asia, there are a few important health risks to be aware of. Typhoid fever is common, and traveler’s diarrhea is also prevalent, so taking care with food and water is essential. Mosquito-borne illnesses, such as Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, and Chikungunya, are present in rural and tropical areas, so if you’re planning to visit remote regions or national parks, your travel pharmacist may recommend vaccinations or antimalarial treatments. Cholera, though less common, can also be a concern in areas with inadequate sanitation. Our travel pharmacists can help you determine which vaccines and preventive treatments are necessary based on your specific itinerary, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your exciting journey through this dynamic and diverse part of the world.
